Privacy notice
This website collects as little as possible. Here is what it collects, why, and what your rights are.
Version of 24 September 2026
Who is responsible
Exelen GmbH, Route André Piller 21, 1762 Givisiez, Switzerland, is responsible for the processing of personal data described here. You can reach us at the email address and phone number in the imprint.
This notice follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What this website does not do
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other servers: fonts, images and code all come from exelen.ch. It has no user accounts.
Server logs
When you open a page, the web server records the IP address of your device, the date and time, the address of the page, the page you came from, the name and version of your browser and the response status.
We use these records only to run the website, to find errors and to detect and block attacks. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland, which processes these records on our behalf and only on our instructions, in data centres in Switzerland.
Infomaniak keeps the logs for a limited period and then deletes them automatically. We do not keep our own copies, unless we need a specific entry to investigate an attack.
When you write to us
If you send us an email or call us, we process your name, your contact details and what you write, to answer you and, if it comes to that, to prepare an offer or a contract. The legal basis is the preparation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our email runs on Microsoft 365, provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited. Microsoft can process data in the United States. Microsoft is certified under the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, and the transfer is also covered by the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
We keep correspondence as long as needed for your request. Correspondence that relates to a contract or to our accounts is kept for the periods required by Swiss commercial law, up to ten years.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, your message and, if you fill them in, your company, phone number and a product code. We use them only to answer you, on the same legal basis as an email.
The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a service that receives the message and forwards it to our mailbox. Web3Forms can process the data outside Switzerland and the EU. Its privacy policy is at web3forms.com.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Under the GDPR you can also ask us to restrict the processing, object to it, and receive your data in a common electronic format.
To exercise these rights, write to us. We may ask you to prove your identity.
You can complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern, in the EU the authority of the country where you live or work.
Changes
We update this notice when the website or the way we process data changes. The version date is at the top of the page.
